Knitted Beret

I try to walk outside whenever the weather permits, so I wanted a new hat to keep my head warm this winter. I found this pattern on Etsy called “The Vera Brittain Beret,” which I purchased and downloaded (the name of the shop it came from is "SwanAvenue"). I was impressed with the pattern and directions, which were very clear and easy to follow. The pattern was easy enough that I could watch movies while knitting, but wasn't a mindless bore!
It ended up a bit bigger than I anticipated (I do have to take into consideration that I have a rather narrow face), but I do really like how it looks. One interesting thing the pattern suggested doing was to block it using a dinner plate, which worked really well.

I also loved how it looks with my light blue wool coat (you might remember it from this post, or this one).  It’s such a cute combination, I might end up using it more for going out than for walking around the neighborhood!
