If Your Hobby Wasn’t Sewing

… what would it be? I can tell you right off that mine would be card making. I LOVE making cards! I could do it all day every day and be thrilled, except… I don’t need that many cards. And I don’t need multiples of the same card, which can make it an expensive hobby. And I don’t have space to store another set of hobby supplies. Plus, I also LOVE sewing, and it has many more practical uses in my life, and I couldn’t bear to give it up, so I limit my card making fun to once a year at Christmas.

I do use fabric in the cards I make, and the best hint a customer from work gave me (which I know I’ve shared before) was to use a two-way fusible web such as Heat n Bond to stick it to the paper, and it works really well! I usually use a mix of fabric and paper to make mine, adding trims or ribbon as needed. I think the UltraHold works a little better than the Lite, but I’ve used both.

I will say that I usually have to take my cards to the post office for extra postage and hand stamping, but it’s worth it for the fun I get to have!

Shown above are is this year’s card, and some of the previous years’.
