The Neutral Dress for Every Occasion
Everyone needs a neutral dress, right? The dress you can wear when black isn’t the right color for the occasion, the dress that is right for every situation. A dress that isn’t too bold, too sexy, too dressy, too trendy, too casual… Well, this is mine! A classic dress that looks good, feels comfortable and fits in any situation from a wedding to a concert to a funeral.
This dress is made from one of my all-time favorite patterns, Burda 7082. It’s made with knit fabric, so it doesn’t need a zipper or any type of closure, which is really nice. I love how flattering it is, as a “faux wrap” style, and that the skirt is full enough to be drapy, but doesn’t look “poofy,” as most of the gathering is centered under the waistband The waistband is actually my favorite part - it’s actually made from two rectangles of fabric wrapped around each other in the middle and then gathered into the sides of the dress. So simple and yet so flattering!
I think I am going to make another one of this pattern at some point - in black, possibly with short sleeves…? But we’ll see!
