Brown Geometric Top

 I feel slightly guilty writing another post about this pattern, since I’ve featured it a couple times and it’s out of print, but when I saw this large-print knit fabric, I couldn’t wait to try making something with it. It was such an unusual knit, but the colors and pattern intrigued me, and I actually spent all summer thinking about what I wanted to do with it. I knew it needed to be a larger garment to show off the print, but I didn’t need (and couldn’t envision) a dress. It finally dawned on me that this pattern, Kwik Sew 4160, might be the perfect fit! 

I bought extra of the fabric so I could play around with the placement. I actually ended up cutting the front piece out on the cross grain to get the stripes to flow the way I wanted (luckily it has enough lycra in it to stretch that direction too).  I really like how it turned out, and I think I'll be able to wear it into fall with a jean jacket over it thanks to the colors in it.
