Pink Tufted Swiss Blouse

I saw a picture of a blouse like this on Pinterest, and saved it for when the right fabric came along, which happened to be this pink one! I modified New Look pattern #6603 by shortening in 5” adding the ruffled edges. To make the ruffles, I ripped a 3” wide length of fabric, sewed it into a tube using 1/4” seams, pressed the flat, and then gathered them with two rows of basting stitches. I also sewed them to the shirt with two rows of stitches to prevent twisting. I did fully line the shirt with a polyester chiffon, just because my pink fabric was pretty sheer too. I love how it turned out, and I think it’s going to get lots of wear this summer!
