Blue Floral Dress
I found this gorgeous jersey fabric last fall and couldn’t wait for warm weather to be inspired to make it! I used Simplicity Pattern #8874, lining it with a white cotton lawn to give it some structure, and I ran a strip of interfacing down the fabric where the zipper went so it wouldn’t stretch out (the pattern does not call for these, but uses elastic at the waist instead, but I was worried about the weight of this fabric affecting the shape, so I did it differently). I do wish I had paid better attention to the bodice and skirt lining up in the front, but I didn’t notice it until I tried it on before hemming it, and decided I’ll probably make a belt of some type for it, which will disguise it anyway, so I’m not going to bother pulling it out. It fit without any adjustments (shocker - twice in one year, and I can’t remember it even happening once before!), but I did size up one from what I usually make. I will definitely be holding onto this pattern, since the fit was excellent and it was easy to make.
