2024 has been quite the year! There were more changes and frustrations (mostly work related) than I expected, but also so many wonderful things (like fulfilling a lifelong dream of going on a hot air balloon ride!) that definitely make the challenges seem more minor in the grand scheme of things. As my first year of blogging and social media wrap up, I look back at the posts, and I think that I have learned a lot (especially about photography - I’d like to think my skills have improved...), and I’m glad for the experience and knowledge I’ve gained, the creative opportunities, and the fun of seeing how many people out there are still creating and sewing. I look forward to seeing what’s ahead in the new year - here’s to more in 2025!

Now that it’s November, if you plan on making any gifts for the holidays, it’s probably time to get started, if you haven’t already! I try really hard not to save all my gift making and purchasing for the weeks before Christmas - it gets stressful and expensive. I picked up the habit from a friend and an aunt to buy things for people when you see something they’ll love, even if it’s months before a holiday (I keep a list on my phone of what I have gotten so I can keep track). Lace Trimmed Blue Top

  I wore this blue top the other day to work and then for a Frosted Coffee run afterwards (I’m trying very hard to think spring these days, despite temps not quite there yet…). I used an old Simplicity pattern, but Butterick 6847 would work as well (neither has lace, I just measured around the bottom once it was together and bought enough to add). I couldn’t find stretch lace locally that was as wide as I had pictured in my head, so I’ll have to be a little careful when sitting down, but I just love how the white lace really makes the whole outfit pop!
