Mustard Chevron Pants




How fun are these wool pants?!  It's so easy to fall back on black or grey during the darker months, so I wanted a brighter "basic" for my winter/transitional wardrobe.  Something that was still warm, but was hinting of brighter days ahead.  These wool pants, using Vogue pattern #1741, add a pop of color to my winter choices without looking out of season, and I should be able to wear them until close to Easter. Wearing them with a royal blue coat adds to the fun, but they can also be more classic if paired with black.

Now that it’s November, if you plan on making any gifts for the holidays, it’s probably time to get started, if you haven’t already! I try really hard not to save all my gift making and purchasing for the weeks before Christmas - it gets stressful and expensive. Lace Trimmed Blue Top

  I wore this blue top the other day to work and then for a Frosted Coffee run afterwards (I’m trying very hard to think spring these days, despite temps not quite there yet…). I used an old Simplicity pattern, but Butterick 6847 would work as well (neither has lace, I just measured around the bottom once it was together and bought enough to add). I couldn’t find stretch lace locally that was as wide as I had pictured in my head, so I’ll have to be a little careful when sitting down, but I just love how the white lace really makes the whole outfit pop!
